MailController
MailController is a combined business anti-virus and anti-spam, fully managed service available from Check-Tek for as little as £3.00 per mailbox per month. MailController has been developed and supported by Opal, a subsidiary of The Carphone Warehouse plc. They are a leading supplier of innovative security solutions to protect IT infrastructures and are dedicated to customer service.
As this is a managed service there is no hardware or software to purchase, you simply subscribe to the service. Once subscribed your internet email is re-routed through Opal’s data centres, where all inbound and outbound email is scanned to ensure it is free from viruses. If a virus is detected it is automatically quarantined to stop it infecting your network.
MailController Anti-Spam is a high-performance managed service that intelligently identifies spam and blocks its delivery. MailController Anti-Spam consistently stops over 98% of all junk email.
As well as unsolicited commercial emails, your spam filter should identify 'chain letter' spam, spoof emails pretending to come from ebay, paypal or banks, mailing system tests from spammers and be able to handle deliberate misspellings designed to circumvent your filters.
Spammers are coming up with new techniques to get round your spam filters all the time, so anti-spam software becomes less effective if it isn't managed and updated regularly. This also increases the chance that your spam filtering service might mis-identify genuine emails as spam. MailController is a managed service and is updated continuously to reduce the danger of these problems.
