Increased Capabilities for Tees Total

Tees Total, who supply printed and embroidered t-shirts, sweatshirts and other garments, needed to update their old database and embrace new technology to enable them to receive logos and images from customers via e-mail. Tees Total asked Check-Tek to put forward a solution and now many of their customers rely on their excellent technology facilities and they have a new adaptable database that supports their busy business.
Investment for the future
Tees Total had created an excellent market with the Military, Scouts, Guides and other organisations supplying specially printed and embroidered leisurewear but realised they needed to update their old database and the way they worked. Their office in Wootton Bassett had two people taking orders by phone with only one computer containing the database which had become outdated and their IT capabilities were no longer supporting their busy organisation.
Although customers were not demanding to send images and logos via e-mail, Tees Total felt that this would be the way forward and investing in IT would be an investment for the future of the company. Tees Total also wanted a way of linking logos to the customer record for repeat and future orders.
The solution
Check-Tek proposed a solution that provided a network to share the database and an e-mail solution to enable communication with customers and the transfer of images. Check-Tek also suggested that the database should be re-written to enable the linking of the logos to customer records to make repeat orders easy.
After discussing the solution in detail with Tees Total, Check-Tek then supplied a specification on how the new database would work to ensure targets were all agreed and everyones expectations were the same.
Check-Tek then wrote the database and arranged for the network hardware to be delivered. They configured the hardware and installed Microsoft Back Office Small Business Server which supplied the Tees Totals network with e-mail and internet access and supported the shared database.
Move forward
The system was configured and tested off site and then installed in two stages so that the two members of staff could get used to the new network first before dealing with the new database. Once the network was settled, Check-Tek then installed the database and provided training, adapting the database as Tees Total began to use the system and their requirements grew. The system, as with all Check-Tek’s solutions, was designed to be fluid and move forward as the client’s business requirements changed.
Tees Total have achieved all their aims and the database now helps to support their busy business. More and more of their customers are now asking to e-mail orders and Tees Total can now satisfy this demand through their forward planning and Check-Tek’s help.
